Melt -- Site Specific Dance Installation

Dear audiences,

It was very unfortunate that we could not perform last Saturday or Sunday due to the rain and the cold,
and thank you to all of you who came to the gallery under the rain...
This piece is in effect not only site-specific but weather-specific...in the effort to adapt ourselves to the laws of Nature and to follow the predilection of the weather report,

We will perform M E L T -

this THURSDAY the 26th and this SUNDAY the 29th. Between 7 pm and 9 pm every half hour.

*Only if it does not rain at least one hour before the show will we perform on SATURDAY the 28th as well.

The Thursday show should offer the best weather conditions for the performance and we hope that you can make it then.

MELT is a presentation initiative of Black & White Gallery [www.blackandwhiteARTgallery.com] as a part of the event series during ON THE HORIZON group show currently on view. ON THE HORIZON introduces a group of young artists whose work shows special promise for the year ahead. Black & White Gallery, located in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn is a venue for artists at the beginning of their careers, exploring contemporary themes and concepts through painting, drawing, photography, site-specific installation and sculpture.

MELT is a creative initiative of Sens Production [www.sensproduction.org] - a non-profit arts organization dedicated to the production and creation of site-specific dance. Noemie Lafrance the artistic director of Sens Production, has directed and choreographed Descent - critically acclaimed site-specific work for a twelve story stairwell presented in the Clocktower in November 2002.

Gallery hours: Thursday through Monday, 1-7pm and by appointment.
Directions to the gallery:
By subway: "L" train to Bedford Avenue stop, follow Driggs Avenue exit, walk down Driggs Avenue against the traffic. The gallery is located between N9 and N10 Streets.
By car from downtown Manhattan: Williamsburg Bridge, follow the first exit off the bridge, bear right to Broadway, follow Broadway to Bedford Avenue, turn right onto Bedford Avenue, follow Bedford Avenue to N11 Street, turn right to N11 Street, make first right onto Driggs Avenue. The gallery will be on your left between N10 and N9 Streets.
