Brecht Forum - Kim Moody - From Welfare State to Real Estate

Labor Notes co-founder Kim Moody takes aim at the politics of New York City. In his new book From Welfare State to Real Estate, he traces the path from the fiscal crisis of the 1970s to today's real estate development frenzy. Moody
documents how the city's business elite tilted the scales against the
interests of New York's working people, producing a 21st century
Gilded City, with the nation's first billionaire mayor.

To get to the Brecht Forum take the A, C, E or L to 14th Street & 8th Ave, walk down 8th Ave. to Bethune, turn right,
walk west to the River, turn left or take the 1, 2, 3 or 9 to 14th
Street & 7th Ave, get off at south end of station, walk west on 12th
Street to 8th Ave. left to Bethune, turn right, walk west to the
River, turn left.
