partecipants of Real Presence 4 that took place in Belgrade from 20 to 31 August
2004; presentation of some of the works made during the workshop, experience
exchange with Intorno group.

2. La prima e la seconda edizione di Real Presence –
Generation 2001/02
curate da Biljana Tomic and Dobrila Denegri
sono state dei grandi workshop
internazionali multimedia e ritrovi di studenti e giovani artisti provenienti
da
diverse accademie d’arte dell’est e l’ovest europeo, dopo
dieci anni di guerra,
crisi politica e isolamento culturale della Serbia e il Montenegro. In questo
tempo di transizione c’é la necessità di ristabilire i contatti
e i dialoghi
culturali tra l’ex Yugoslavia/ Serbia e Montenegro e altri paesi, quindi
le 1°,
2° e 3° edizioni di Real Presence, hanno coinvolto generazioni emergenti
di
artisti provenienti da diversi bagagli culturali, che lavorano con diversi
media. Nelle prime due edizioni hanno partecipato più di 500 giovani
artisti
provenienti da numerose accademie e stati (Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Bosnia,
Repubblica Ceca, Danimarca, Estonia, Francia, Germania, Gran Bretagna, Olanda,
Ungheria, Islanda, Italia, Lituania, Macedonia, Polonia, Portogallo, Romania,
Singapore, Slovenia, Spagna, Svezia, Svizzera…) durante le due settimane
di
durata del workshop e la mostra a Belgrado.
Quest’anno
la quarta edizione di Real Presence, si é svolta a Belgrado dal 20 al
31 Agosto 2004 portando avanti l’idea di creare un punto d’incontro
per le
generazioni emergenti di artisti dalle accademie europee ma non solo. Durante
la
manifestazione gli artisti hanno realizzato e presentato performances, actions,
lectures, progetti per il web, video e installazioni site specific, pitture
e
sculture, affermando le proprie possibilità attuali di muoversi aperta
e
liberamente dentro le diverse discipline, media e linguaggi espressivi,
articolando nuove e fresche posizioni reali, atteggiamenti, concetti e
riflessioni sulla vita dell’individuo e la realtà globale.

2. First and second edition of Real Presence –
Generation 2001/02
curated by
Biljana Tomic and Dobrila Denegri where huge international multimedia workshops
and meeting of young artists and students from East and West European Art
Academies after ten years of war, political crisis and cultural isolation of
Serbia and Montenegro. In this time of transition there is necessity to bridge
the gaps and re-establish contacts and cultural dialogue between /ex-Yugoslavia/
Serbia and Montenegro and other countries, so 1°, 2° and 3° edition
of Real
Presence involved emerging generations of artists coming from different cultural
backgrounds and working in different media. In the first two editions took part
about 500 young artists coming from numerous Art Academies and countries
(Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France,
Germany, Great Britain, Holland, Hungary, Island, Italy, Latvia, Macedonia,
Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland…)
during the two weeks workshop and exhibition in Belgrade.
This year the fourth
edition of Real Presence, took place from 20th till 31st of
August 2004 continuing the idea of creating a meeting point for emerging
generations of artists from Art Academies of European and other countries that
had realized and presented performances, actions, lectures, web projects, video
and on site installations, painting and sculpture, affirming their actual
possibilities to move freely and openly within different disciplines, media
and
expressive languages, and articulate new, fresh and real positions, attitudes,
concepts and reflections on global and individual life and reality.
